This morning I had planned to share a post that’s been on my heart for months now, even before the blog came into focus.
But that post must be meant for another day. God is giving me grace, and I hope you can, too. When you live in God, you live in grace⚊which is a miracle in and of itself!
Grace is the unmerited (undeserved) favor of God toward us. We can do nothing to earn it; it is His gift to us. Many songs have been written about it, including the renowned Amazing Grace. But one of my favorites in Matt Redman’s Your Grace Finds Me.
[Verse 1]
It’s there in the newborn cry
There in the light of every sunrise
There in the shadows of this light
Your great grace
[Verse 2]
It’s there on the mountain top
There in the everyday and the mundane
There in the sorrow and the dancing
Your great grace, oh, such grace
[Chorus 1]
From the creation to the cross
There from the cross into eternity
Your grace finds me
Yes, Your grace finds me
[Verse 3]
It’s there on a wedding day
There in the weeping by the graveside
There in the very breath we breathe
Your great grace
[Verse 4]
The same for the rich and poor
The same for the saint and for the sinner
Enough for this whole wide world
Your great grace, oh, such grace
God’s grace is sufficient to meet all our needs.
It allows us rest. It allows for reflection. It allows for space to breathe and be aware of our breathing. It allows for mistakes, goof ups, learning, and starting over. It allows for silliness and belly laughs. It allows for heartwrenching sobs and arms to fall into.
As the sun rises on this new day, may you breathe in His grace toward you and breathe out any thoughts of fear, self-condemnation, or lack. God is not in those things, and it’s His breath that fills your lungs.
